Several months ago after exploring Pinterest, I was inspired to create some cut paper illustrations. Some good friends of mine decided to move to Texas, so I decided to make a little cutout illustration of their son and my dog to give them as a going away gift. The story behind the illustration is their son once said “Mom, I can’t sit still, I’m Electricty!” We all thought it was hilarious, and these pictures are the results. Introducing Electric Boy and Spark Pugs!

Play Time! Using deformers in Toon Boom Harmony
In-between teaching classes the past couple of days, I’ve been messing around with the deformers in toon boom harmony. It is a really cool process once you get the hang of it. I have barely scratched the surface of all of its intricate functions, but I’m excited to learn more about this process. I’ve seen several animated television shows using it, so ii can be a useful tool to have under my belt. Here is that quick test!

Cameraless Animation: Scratch on Film
I’m currently teaching a class called Selected Topics in Animation. It consists of exploring non-traditional forms of animation, one of which is cameraless. For this process, you scratch on black coated sheets of acetate in order to create frames of animation. Once done, you scan in the images and sequence them in photoshop. Here is a little test I did for an in-class demonstration.

AIGA Animation
I was one of 10 animators who chose a decade of art and created a 10 second animation for AIGA Jacksonville’s 25th anniversary. My decade was 1964-1974, and the animation was inspired by Milton Glaser and his design style. To add my own personal touch, I decided to use clay and stop motion in order to create the animation. It was a really fun project, and I hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it.
Introducing the Black Superheroes!
Hey everyone! I just wanted to post a little update about what I’ve been working on lately. Back in February I was approached by a local writer to illustrate a comic book called Introducing the Black Superheroes. The comic serves to illustrate and commemorate 10 black superheroes that were derived from American ex-slave folklore.
It seemed like a fun and interesting project to be attached to, so I accepted the offer. I had about a month to design the characters and illustrate the 24 pages of the comic in order to meet the release date in April. It was a lot of fun and a really mind opening experience to create a comic from scratch. The comic was officially released on April 11th at One Spark in Jacksonville, Florida; and is currently available on Amazon.com.
Thanks for taking the time to check it out and I hope you enjoy it!
48 Hour Film Competition
Hey All! Back in June I worked with Team Best Friends on a short film for the 48-hour animation film festival. As per usual, I created opening credits for the film. The concept was based off of child-like imagination and drawing of monsters and fear of the dark. I really wanted to sell the idea of child-like quality animation, as well as a creepy vibe considering we had Suspense/Thriller as a genre.
I drew a lot of influence from the titles for Drop Dead Fred (one of my favorite movies) and the creepy title sequence from the movie Mama.
For the sequence, I create some really simple animation cycles and composited them in after effects.
I hope you enjoy them!

JUICED! 2013
Hey all–
It has been just about 24 hours since I worked with my buddy Ajay (The Devil’s Garage) on an animation for JUICED! JUICED! is a 24 hr animation competition held in collaboration with the Citrus Cel Animation Film Festival.
It was quite a fun, interesting, and extremely draining challenge. Working from 2 different time zones, assisting students, hosting/running the event, and trying to work on your own animation in 24 hrs…INSANITY! Here are the characters I designed for the project, and a few of the layout I created as well.

Daily Grind
Here is some simple concept art from a project that I am currently developing with Elier Ramos. The Show is called Daily Grind, and it is about a group of baristas working at a coffee shop. The motley crew have a highly caffeinated boss that they contend with on a daily basis, as well as a plethora of interesting and obnoxious customers.
Back in October, we pitched the concept to some studio representatives, and they liked the idea. They gave a few recommendations which we are currently working on. Hope buy CBD products have the piece ready to go soon, and maybe even… A PILOT?! XD
Stay tuned for more updates.
